Installation with one PC

1. Turn off your computer. Unplug your Cable/DSL modem power cord.
2. Disconnect the Ethernet cable (coming from the Cable/DSL modem) from the back of your PC and then connect it into
the WAN port on the Adapter.
3. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable provided with your Adapter into the LAN port on the Adapter. Connect the other end
of this Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on the computer.
4. Plug the power cord back into your modem. Wait about two minutes for the modem to completely re-boot.
5. Plug in a regular telephone (cordless or otherwise) into the PHONE port on the back of the Adapter. Plug the power cord
into the POWER port on the Adapter and into an electrical outlet. This turns your Adapter on. You do not need to unplug it
when it’s not in use.
6. Check that the Adapter is receiving power. The LED lights should come on if the
Adapter is receiving power. Wait at least two minutes for the Adapter to start up.
7. Power up the computer. Your Internet connection should work as it did before
you installed the Adapter.
8. Pick up your telephone receiver and listen for a dial tone. If you hear a dial tone,
you have finished the installation and can begin making calls. You will need to
use 11-digit dialing (example: 1-555-555-1234). If you are dialing another subscriber of
this service, use 10-digit dialing (example: 555-555-1234). If you do not get a dial tone,
unplug the adapter, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in. If you are still experiencing

Installation with a Hub

1. Turn off your computer. Unplug your Cable/DSL modem power cord.
2. Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the uplink port of your hub and then connect it
into the LAN port on the Adapter.
3. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable provided with your Adapter into the WAN
port on the Adapter. Connect the other end of this Ethernet cable into the uplink port
of your hub.
4. Plug the power cord back into your modem. Wait about two minutes for the modem to
completely re-boot.
5. Plug in a regular telephone (cordless or otherwise) into the PHONE port on the
back of the Adapter. Plug the power cord into the POWER port on the Adapter and
into an electrical outlet. This turns your Adapter on. You do not need to unplug it

your router.
